Official Bio
The D says duh the R says rrr the E says eh the A says ahh the M says em. That’s what I recently learned from my three-year-old niece. I’m truly living the DREAM!
I was born in Cambridge, MA to Haitian immigrants. The story my mother told me is that my parents didn’t have a name for me (even as the first born) so a neighbor named me. My name is a combination of both my parents nicknames in Haitian Kreyol.
The Lu is from my father, Luynel and the nie is from my mother, Ismenie.
“Together--Lunie-- means Shining Moon. It’s fitting because I truly am a night owl who can’t go to be before 2am.”
I fell in love with acting at 7 years old when watching music videos on MTV. Then, MTV was free and Whitney Houston and Sade were my inspiration.
I moved to New York 14 years ago to become an actress, and I have never looked back!
As a lover of languages I not only speak Haitian Kreyol, I also speak conversational Spanish and French. I also learned a little Dutch for my travels to the Netherlands a few years ago. Hoe haat het? (Love this Dutch reference.) Fun to me is planning and organizing or and playing in the backyard with my three old niece, or singing songs off key.
I love to work from home, responding to emails, prepping acting classes and helping actors choose the best classes for them.(This is interesting. I’d love to hear more about how you help actors choose the best classes for them. Where do they take classes? Do you work at a studio?) I learned to count money and make change in my head working at a bank. Retail taught me patience, and answering phone calls has taught me to be a good listener.
I can tackle any fast food order, and can carry a tray of quiche or croq monsieur through a room filled with 200 people.
Currently, I’m improving my business skills in Tony Howell’s Business Development Mastermind. Here I’m working to launch my eco-conscious product that amplify voices, inspire curiosity, and change the way people communicate.
These products are inspired by my travels to Florida, New Orleans, and also Belgium, France and the Netherlands.
I look forward to being an entrepreneur so that I can work on the warm, sunny beach since I love to travel while eating lasagna and a delicious salad with flavored sparkling water! I look forward to knocking things off my bucket list, which includes visiting every continent.
My joy is sharing uplifting information, resources, and cheering people in their good news. Let me know how I may be of service!
